❕A pied-à-terre (French for "foot on the ground") is
a small, secondary residence—usually an apartment in a
major city—used for temporary, occasional stays rather
than as a primary home.

Concept
This project explores the tension between classical order and contemporary disruption.
A neoclassical interior is reinterpreted through bold interventions, where royal blue breaks the most iconic off-white palette and challenges tradition. The design creates a dialogue between permanence and change, transforming classical language into a contemporary spatial experience.
The royal blue - symbolic shade of authority and status - is the central interferer into a classic architecture enriched with wall moldings and high ceilings. Its intensity is provoked by the aggressive burgundy accents. This tension is unexpectedly absorbed into the neo-classic volumes and builds up a sensual balance with no emotional center of the space.
The contrast is reinforced by combining the modern minimalistic shapes, innovative textures and lighting fixtures with antiques, timeless materials and classy architecture.
Position
This space resonates with the confidence and status of the family which shows a different approach to inheritance. Not too sentimental, not too futuristic.
