A Home That Breathes Greek Summer
A little shepherd’s house on Thasos soon will find a new life as a colorful summer villa. The original proportions and high roof will remain, but inside, the space will breathe with light again.
A Dialogue Between Stone and Light
The villa’s character begins with its authentic stone walls, to be left visible in key areas to anchor the interior in its rural origins. Its texture will be softened by white stucco paint that reflects the abundant summer light.
To counterbalance the natural heaviness of stone, the design introduces modern lighting: spotlights and LED strips spreading warm glow and sharpening the textures.

Greek‑Inspired Niches: Small Gestures, Big Soul
One of the most charming features of the villa - the use of architectural niches, reminiscent of Greek island homes. These small carved‑out spaces — some for display, others for storage — add depth and break the flatness of walls, creating pockets of shadow and color.
Color enters the story through vibrant tiles and carefully chosen accents. Inspired by Aegean landscapes: the palette leans into olive‑leaf greens and contrasting bursts of terracotta.
Where Past and Present Meet
What makes this summer villa special is its balance. It honors the authenticity of the old structure while embracing the vibrancy of contemporary Aegean living. Stone and stucco meet modern lighting. Wood meets color. Tradition meets playfulness.
The result is a home that feels both timeless and fresh, a place where the memory of a shepherd’s shelter coexists with the joy of summer living. It will not be a renovated house — it will be story rewritten with respect and a deep appreciation for the textures of life.
